Hilton Foods are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team. As an Accountant, your role will see you focus on three main areas: financial reporting and financial analysis, accounting activities and ad-hoc activities to support the finance function for Hilton Foods Ltd. Maintaining all finance systems, providing support to the Operational Team and identifying areas of improvement that support business development.
As a Financial Accountant some of the responsibilities will be:
- Assisting in Producing monthly managements accounts for review, accurately and consistently on time, Ensuring alignment with Group reporting standards.
- Production of monthly expenditure updates from Hilton Foods on Shared Services Agreement spend.
- Reviewing the day-to-day accounting, ensuring all accounting records are accurately maintained and accounts are regularly reconciled.
- Journal Processing: Handle standard and non-standard journal entries. Set up recurring and reversing/accrual journals, maintaining accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Monthly Reconciliation of all general ledger accounts. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure that all activities related to financial reporting are completed within specified deadlines. Contribute to a streamlined close process
- Ensure the completion and submission of tax and statistical returns including VAT, PAYE and others as required.
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement, aiming for a more efficient and effective financial reporting cycle.
- Supporting of procurement process approval.
- Supporting audit processes.
- Provide support for Senior Accountants and the Head Office Accountant in handling ad-hoc tasks and special projects.
To succeed as a Financial Accountant, we ask that you have the following experience/expertise:
- Proven experience in balance sheet reconciliations, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Part Qualified accountant or QBE.
- Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of financial issues.
- Experience with accounting systems, experience with SAP4 HANA will be a plus, expense systems as Concur.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ambitious professional and keen to learn
