What we are looking for:
We are looking for a professional and experienced Specification Technologist to join our growing Technical team. As a Specification Technologist you will provide support for technical matters liaising with customers and suppliers on technical requirements, specifications and product information. As a key member of the technical team, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise workload and work well as part of a team. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of technical processes and legal requirements and have strong experience in specification writing.
Key responsibilities as a Specification Technologist will be to:
- Co-ordination and implementation of all activities relating to specification and artwork generation using both retailer and non-retail specification platforms.
- Ensure all artwork adheres to legal and customer standards.
- Working to critical path and escalating any deviation to timelines.
- Ensuring the customer specifications are to gold standard and accurately transferred to internal systems.
- Ensuring raw material specifications are received from suppliers and reviewed to ensure the correct and full detail is present.
- Liaising internally with various departments to validate information.
- Liaising with the customer when required.
- Interrogating nutritional data against industry guidelines and escalating any anomalies.
Required experience/expertise to succeed as a Specification Technologist will include:
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry in a technical role with a strong ambition to progress their career within the technical environment.
- A degree or equivalent experience within a food science/technology discipline.
- Strong knowledge of recipe generation, food nutrition and food labelling.
- Experience of working with an online retailer specification system with good working knowledge of computer systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with a very high attention to detail.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines with good project management and organizational skills
