Emer Fardy
Group Sustainability & Human Rights Director
Emer joined Hilton Foods in January 2020. Emer leads a team of specialists developing and delivering the Hilton Foods Sustainable Protein Plan across their global operations. This plan covers people, planet, and product.
Emer is currently a board member of the ERBS, is on the governance board for the UK Soy Manifesto, and is on the Stakeholder Advisory Board for the Animal Research Network. She was the nominated retail representative for 4 years for the Red Tractor Pigs Board and their Technical Advisory Committee. She has contributed to thought leadership in relevant areas through peer-reviewed publications and creating content promoting industry and academic discussion.
Julia Black
Group Ethics & Social Sustainability Senior ManagerJulia leads our human rights work, a topic which traverses both our own operations and supply chains. She works within our Group function to empower our national businesses to engage in human rights due diligence, and provides central resource for the implementation of our policies, procedures, and global risk assessment. Julia serves as Chair to the Seafoods Ethics Action Alliance and as a Board Member to the Food Network for Ethical Trade. Julia holds a Masters by Research from Heriot-Watt University, examining the role of fashion manufacture in enabling international development.
Tom Maidment
Group Product Sustainability Senior Manager
Tom leads the group decarbonisation programme, our lifecycle assessment (LCA) work and a number of sustainability innovation projects. Before joining Hilton Foods in 2021, he ran his own consultancy specialising in improving public understanding of the carbon footprint of food and worked at Jaguar Land Rover, spending five years working on their first electric vehicle before developing the company’s net zero strategy as LCA specialist. He holds a MEng degree in Automotive Engineering & Sustainability from the University of Warwick and is a Chartered Engineer.
Tom is a member DEFRA Food Data Transparency Partnership Eco Working Group and serves on the review panel for the development of Marine Fish Product Environmental Footprinting Category Rules (PEFCR). In addition to his work with Hilton Foods, he is Head of the UK’s Youth Delegation to G20 Brasil 2024 and an Associate at Oxford Net Zero.
Barry Larkham-Jones
Group Livestock Sustainability & Welfare Senior ManagerBarry is an experienced farm animal veterinarian who has spent time in both clinical practice and industry working for a pharmaceutical company, Hipra, and latterly for Genus ABS, a global bovine genetics company. He is passionate about animal welfare and how we can use outcome-based standards to deliver measurable animal health, welfare and sustainability strategies.
Teresa Fernandez
Group Sustainability Senior Manager for Seafood and Crops
Teresa joined Hilton Seafood in 2019 and she currently serves as Group Sustainability Senior Manager for Seafood and Crops. Teresa obtained her Biology degree from the University of Seville before moving to Scotland to pursue a Sustainable Aquaculture MSc at the University of Stirling. After graduating, she began her career as a biologist, specializing in fish health at rainbow trout and salmon, working on farms across Scotland.
Leonid Nechyporenko
Group Sustainability Technical AnalystLeonid joined Hilton Foods in 2024, he manages sustainability data at Group, supporting key disclosures, TNFD implementation and data-driven decisions across operations. Leonid’s work is vital to driving our environmental stewardship and substantiating our claims to ensure we share our sustainability journey transparently.
Natasha Wong
Sustainability Reporting ManagerNatasha recently moved over from New Zealand and joined Hilton Foods in September 2024. She has degrees in Accounting and Management from the University of Otago, is a qualified Chartered Accountant, and brings the accounting lens to our sustainability reporting with experience in audited ESG reports. Natasha’s passions include all things food, waste minimisation, and team culture and wellbeing, so she feels right at home at Hilton Foods (despite being a long way from her actual home)!
Milly Shelley
Sustainability Communications SpecialistMilly leads our sustainability communications, shaping how we share our sustainability story both internally and externally. Working within the Group function, she ensures our communications strategy aligns with our broader sustainability goals, supporting our teams across global sites. Milly oversees the Group’s LinkedIn strategy and sustainability-focused website content, driving engagement and visibility. She is the central force behind the Sustainability Newsletter and the Sustainability Report, using her experience in ESG reporting to be transparent in the way we share our sustainability journey.
